The tours are organized and led by Sidi Ahmed himself. They are all-inclusive whether from the airport or from the camp. For your trips you will be provided with: camels or SUVs, individual tents for the night, a cook to prepare meals with locally sourced products to be enjoyed under the Sahara sky, and a trained guide to walk you through the desert and its culture.
For your trekking tours, you will be accompanied by camels to
carry the material and people who cannot walk during the entire tour. And for
your motored trips, you will ride
through dunes in SUVs.
You will discover over your trip the various dimensions of
the nomadic life, meeting herd
owners looking for food for their animals, learn about their way of life and
habits, and see the various faces of the desert far from the typical clichés.

Trekking - 6 days:
The tour
starts with the historical city of Chinguetti, a UNESCO world heritage site of
major importance in Muslim history. Holding Mauritania's former name, Chinguetti was
the meeting point of pilgrims before making their way to Makkah through the
Sahara. As a formal nodal point of trans-Saharan trade, the city was a high
place for trade, culture and education. In Chinguetti, you will discover the
libraries of ancient families and learn how they used to make and conserve
their books. From there, your trip will take you through plains, dunes, oasis
and valleys for an authentic experience of the nomadic life to the rhythm of
the sun, enjoying the changes in the colours of the sky and the land. Your trip
will end under the luxurious palm trees of the oasis of Terjit where many
African princes were crowned.
Trekking - 15 days:
Nature and adventure lovers can enjoy additional adventures
on the sandy white dunes stretching far across the horizon before completely
changing their environment and rhythm while crossing black mountains burnt by
the sunlight, enjoying a different unique feature of the Sahara Desert. The tour will then take you through the palm grove of Legietat where you will enjoy
some fresh air and learn to make the famous Saharan tea under the palm trees.
Afterwards, the Amatlich dunes will dive you back in the atmosphere of the desert before getting to the agricultural lands of Erich where you will learn
how semi-nomads grow crops in the desert. Finally, the tour will end on the
massive Grande Dune of Azoueiga, major sightseeing sport for Sahara lovers.
SUV - 7 days:
The SUV tour will immerse you in the daily life of nomads who travel through the desert with their herds looking for water and food for their beasts. This trip will get you to travel at a fast pace over the dunes of the Adrar, to live a Hollywoodian Indiana Jones-like experience.

It starts with the remains of the city of Ouadane, where the
ruins are in a good enough condition to imagine how life went by inside the
walls of this city at its height in the 16th century. You will then drive
through Galb Richet, a massive 100 million years old asteroid impact called the
Eye of Africa. The landscape then completely changes for a colourful and
luxurious palm grove where you will enjoy a green space for a break before
getting to the former cultural nodal city of Chinguetti. The SUV will then roll
across the Mharez valley, taking you in-between high rock mountains before
getting to the sandy horizon of the White Valley, reminding you of the coastal
decorum of the beaches.
